About This Activity

Sketching is a traditional way to learn to draw and is the foundation of all visual are.  It's used throughout an artist's career to refresh and sharpen their drawing skill.  In this instructional class you will learn techniques for drawing, shading and still life art with graphite pencil, but you can apply the core concepts you'll learn about sight drawing, line, texture, value, and form to any other art.  Sketcing is called a "foundational" art skill because it gives you the tools to think about and design a visual art project in any other medium!

*Students must bring a 9x14" sketch pad.
