Where is MCM10K Packet Pick-up?
MCM10K runners must retrieve their race materials at Packet Pick- up, part of the MCM Health and Fitness Expo, located inside the Washington Convention Center. The packet includes the participant bib number, D-tag and UPS baggage claim sticker. Be sure to complete all medical and contact information on reverse side of bib.  Runners will then receive their coveted mock neck participant shirt, goodie bag containing safety pins and the informative race program.  Runners must remember to bring the e-confirmation card to Packet Pick-up. Where Does the All New MCM10K Start?

The start of the All New MCM10K presented by Aetna has moved to the National Mall, just outside the Smithsonian Metro station on Jefferson Drive.  Participants and spectators should proceed directly to the start location, just a block away from the Smithsonian Castle. Be sure to get a picture with the President Barak Obama wax figure from Madame Tussauds near the start. Opening festivities begin at 7:50 a.m. DC Council member Jack Evans will fire the starter's pistol and the howitzer will blast to start the race at 8:05 a.m. Wheelchair and hand cycle participants will be stationed at the front of the corrals for the start. UPS Baggage trucks are located near the 10K Info area and then relocate to MCM Finish Festival.

How Do I Get to the MCM10K Start?

Metro remains the most convenient means to arrive at the MCM10K start with the Smithsonian station (blue/orange) being located directly at the start.  The Metro system opens at 5 a.m. on Marathon Morning.  There is no shuttle service to the 10K start nor is there any designated 10K parking location, as road closures for the marathon will affect the area surrounding the course.  Convenient post-race Metro stations are located in Rosslyn (blue/orange) and Arlington Cemetery (blue).

What Services are Available on the 10K Course?

The USATF-certified MCM10K course will follow the marathon course across the 14th Street Bridge into Crystal City.  There, the 10K course diverts from the marathon by making a left onto 15th Street.  After arriving at the Pentagon, 10K runners will complete their 6.2 miles in parallel to the MCM, finishing at the Marine Corps War Memorial.  All runners will be timed using the ChronoTrack system.  The course includes two water points and two aid stations.  MCM10K runners will enjoy post-race hospitality to include Aquafina water, Powerade, fruit and other nourishment.

What Entertainment is on the 10K Course?
The on-going entertainment begins when 16-year-old Miranda Townsend from Northern Virginia performs the National Anthem.  Within the first mile, 10K runners will hear the beat of Batala, an all-women percussion group.  More excitement and music follows in Crystal City.  DJ Manny provides final mile motivation before runners approach the Marine Corps War Memorial finish line.    Deferment Policy
