The Turkey Trot is a 5k fun run for the entire family. Walkers and strollers are welcome; no pets please.
The 20th Annual Turkey Trot; is a wonderful way to start Thanksgiving Day, with fun for the entire family. The certified 5k course is run along gently sloping UAHuntsville campus roadways. Professionally timed using the latest in computerized technology, the race meets the needs of serious runners but its informal, fun for anyone interested in having a great time.

There?s an informal race for children 5 and under too. The Tiny Tot Turkey Trot starts at 9:00 am right after the 5k run. The children race the length of the parking lot at Spragins Hall against our turkey mascot. It?s just for fun. All the children get a ribbon and a prize for participating and the winner gets a turkey trophy. No registration is required and the entry fee is a can of food or a small toy for the children staying at our HOPE Place shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Crisis Services of North Alabama is a United Way Agency which provides emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence through HOPE Place, a community crisis line through HELPline, forensic medical exams and rape crisis counseling through the Sexual Assault Response Program and we are the local call center for the 2-1-1 information and referral initiative. We charge no fee for our services. We are supported through public and private grants, individual contributions and fund-raisers like the Turkey Trot.Photos from last year!
