Camp Globo is a language immersion summer day camp for children entering grades k-5. We spend our days in all sorts of fun camp adventures including water play, sports, crafts, and music; all the while without using any English. Your child will naturally and effortlessly absorb a new language.
At Camp Globo our leaders are refered to as guides instead of teachers or counselors. They are here to help guide children through fun activites in a new language. We refrain from using the title of teacher because we are not formally teaching our campers. We recruit students from the local universities, teachers on summer break, native speakers and multilingual camp professionals. All of our guides are fluent in the language they teach and background checked.
Camp Globo is offered in two week sessions. We offer multiple sessions throughout the summer months. Each session has a different theme and camp activities are based around that theme. Our days are broken into four main sections: art, movement, focus, and music. Children are exposed to repetitive and kinetic language use that will stimulate their brains and create a basis for a lifetime of fluency. Immediate fluency is not to be expected, since children absorb and exhibit new skills at different rates. Building blocks for the cognitive advantages of multilingualism are formed while having fun at Camp Globo!
Camp Globo is in Stow, Ohio at the corner of Fishcreek Rd. and Stow Rd. We are minutes away from Hudson, Akron, and Cuyahoga Falls. Our facilities offer large indoor and outdoor space with access to a playground as well as separate boys and girls locker rooms. Your kids can have all the fun of summer while being immersed in a language experience that will benefit them the rest of their lives.
