Race Course:
The new 10K race and 5K fun run/walk courses start in downtown Houston at the corners of Walker and Bagby and finish on Allen Parkway. To ensure everyone's safety, the event will kick off with the start of the 10K race followed minutes later by the 5K fun run/walk. Expect plenty of hoopla and large crowds of cheering spectators as participants lead the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Parade. The ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run 10K is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and the Gulf Association of USA Track & Field. 10K race participants are expected to strictly adhere to USA Track & Field operating regulations. The 5K fun run/walk is unsanctioned, noncompetitive and fun for the whole family!

Race Results and Timing: The ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run 10K will use an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder tag attached to a runner's shoe. Times will not be recorded without a tag. The timing tag will be included in the runner packet for all 10K participants. The noncompetitive 5K race will not utilize tag timing and individual times will not be recorded. Walkers must finish the course by 11:30 a.m. Individual timing and race results will be provided via e-mail to all 10K finishers. The timing tag net time will be used to score all 10K participants except the overall first-place male and female winners and the first-place male and female wheelchair winners.
10K results will be posted via the official race website at www.ConocoPhillipsRodeoRun.com, including streaming video of 10K runners crossing the finish line. Runners can download the file for individual use or send the clip via e-mail to their friends and family.

Houston Rodeo Run Tradition Continues:
Runners, walkers, families and friends of all ages are invited to participate in the 26th annual ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. This tradition, which raises scholarship funds for Texas youth, will once again lead the Houston Livestock Show and RodeoTM (HLSR) Parade past thousands of cheering spectators in downtown Houston. Last year, more than 15,000 participants took part in the Rodeo Run, raising a record $400,000 for the HLSR Educational Fund. Since the race began in 1988, the company has raised $3.3 million. A combination of Southern hospitality and generosity, along with a Texas-sized post-race party, makes the run one of the most popular and memorable events in the region.
