What's Included

A fantastic introduction to traditional music theory, this class focuses on building skills that help you match what you hear to what you see on the page. This workshop can benefit all musicians - from vocalists to songwriters and other instrumentalists - in developing skills related to sight reading, composition and arranging and song analysis. Students will become familiar with: time signatures and learning to conduct in multiple meters; key signatures and how to identify them on the page or choose one while writing music and; musical terms and score reading to fully understand pieces and get in-depth information from the sheet music. Students will also expand their musical horizons by listening to and analyzing songs from Classical to Pop genres and everything in between. No class February 17 or April 21.
