What's Included

Students will draw both from observation and non-objective subjects. Students will begin using drawing mediums and move toward painting. Mediums we will be using are pencils, graphite, marker, oil and chalk pastels, and charcoal. When painting, the student artists use watercolor, tempera, and acrylic. Students paint on watercolor paper or board, as well as explore tempera and acrylic on canvas or canvas boards. Students should bring an 11x14” sketch book to class and be prepared to draw daily; additional supply list will be provided upon registration. Most artwork will be created in their books. The goal of this class is to appreciate and observe the world around us every day, as well as better our love of art and our skill level. This class builds upon previous skills learned in Drawing/Painting/Pastels classes, or through other arts instruction. Two sections of this level are offered. Instructor: Mary Dewey
