What's Included

The college essay-writing process is notorious for being a stressful experience, but what if it doesn’t have to be? Writing an essay in which you truly communicate who you are and what you care about can be liberating and rewarding. This class will give you the time and guidance you need to focus on writing your college essay(s). The secondary goal of the class is to make the writing process as fun and collaborative as possible. The class will function as a workshop: you are welcome to bring in essays-in-progress, as well as specific essay questions from the college(s) to which you are applying. In turn, the instructor will prompt you to come up with new ideas for essays. The instructor will give as much one-on-one feedback as possible, but writers will be encouraged to share their work and ideas with others in the class. Students in the first six-week session will be in a good position to complete essays by November application deadlines. 6 Classes Taught by Kate Westhaver
