What's Included

Do you love numbers, statistics, sports and card games? The first part of this camp will explore how to measure performance of baseball players. Students will learn about Bill James and the search for objective knowledge of baseball through studies in “Sabremetrics.” During the second half of camp we will play and analyze the game of Bridge. According to Bill Gates, “Bridge helps you think. It’s a game you can play your entire life and keep getting better and better.” To continue math fun all summer long, students will be introduced to the ALEKS program, a web based artificially intelligent learning system. The course fee includes a three-month ALEKS subscription. Join Blake Lower School Administrator and former Whitby School Math Coordinator Peter Zantop for a fun, enriching and challenging week of mathematics studies.

About This Organizer

Join Blake this Spring and Summer for exciting seasons of growth and fun. Spring and Summer is when we can open our doors wide to students from the neighborhood and across the Twin Cities. The love of learning is central to the mission of The Blake School and we invite students from pre–kindergarten through twelfth grade to pursue academic, artistic and athletic interests and passions.

From camps to courses, from the ice arena to the science lab, students enjoy Blake's amazing facilities, talented coaches and superb teachers. We are excited about all that our 2016 programs have to offer, and we hope you will join us.
