About This Activity

What distinguishes the highly effective therapist from the average? Based on solid empirical evidence, Dr. Miller will offer participants three specific strategies that separate the great from the good. In addition, he will demonstrate a simple method for measuring success rates that can help participants develop a profile of their most and least effective moments in therapy.  Participants will learn how to use these findings to improve their practice, and they will also come away with concrete tools that will boost clinical abilities and effectiveness.

Scott D. Miller, PhD, founder of the International Center for Clinical Excellence,  is one of a handful of invited faculty whose work, thinking, and research is featured at the prestigious “Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference.” Dr. Miller is the co-author of numerous articles and books, including The Heroic Client: A Revolutionary Way to Improve Effectiveness through Client-Directed, Outcome-Informed Therapy.
