Have you ever wondered what it would be like to escape from prison? Now you can experience it for yourself without the added jail time, horrible food, restricting bracelets, and uncomfortable showers. This unique obstacle race is specifically designed to immerse each runner (AKA Escapee) in a realistic experience fueled with adrenaline, mild paranoia, and a bit of healthy fear. This is not just a race?This is an experience! The real question is? ?CAN YOU ESCAPE??
Directions from Interstate 10 - Westbound
Take Exit 56 (Crestview) and turn north onto Hwy. 85.Travel north for approximately 3 miles to the intersection of Hwy. 85 and Hwy. 90.Turn west (left) onto Hwy. 90.Travel west for approximately 10 miles to Holland Road (on right).
Directions from Interstate 10 - Eastbound
Take Exit 45 (Holt) and turn north onto Log Lake Road.Travel north for approximately 1 mile to Hwy. 90. Turn east (right) onto Hwy. 90.Travel east for approximately 2 miles to Holland Road (on left).
Directions from F.W.B./Niceville/Destin
Drive to the intersection of Hwy. 20 (Niceville) and Hwy. 85. Travel north on Hwy. 85 to the intersection of Hwy. 90 (Crestview). Turn west (left) onto Hwy. 90. Travel west for approximately 10 miles to Holland Road (on right).
Race Lengths: 5k and 8k. Distances will be as accurate as possible but you won't notice when you are trying to make it over the border!Difficulty Levels: There are two difficulty levels available. You can race as a ?Chain Gang? Escapee which is designed for prisoners of all sizes, ages, and fitness levels. Or you can race as a ?Death Row? Escapee. The ?Death Row? version is more difficult and designed for the above average and elite prisoners. These options are available for the 5k. If you take on the 8k, we assume you belong on ?Death Row? and will be signed up as so. Site Information: There will be sponsors, vendors, food, etc. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Chiari Malformation research and we are partnering with local and national charities like Soles4Souls to promote community involvement. Spectators are welcome and will have plenty to do and see. We will also offer a kids area to keep the children occupied and prevent them from taking over the prison.
