Children of the Earth Foundation was founded by author Tom Brown Jr. to teach the primitive living, philosophy and awareness skills passed down by his Lipan Apache mentor, Stalking Wolf. Stalking Wolf spent his entire life living free of the reservations, working to preserve the skills that have enabled indigenous people to live free and in harmony with the Earth for countless generations.
At Children of the Earth, youth and families learn not only the skills of making fire without matches, building survival shelters and other skills that help you in a survival situation, but also the skills and philosophies which produced a happy, prosperous life just from the things available from nature. Our programs immerse you in nature in a way most have never experienced and people come away more alive, inspired and confident than ever before.
Advanced classes in tracking, spiritual skills, advanced survival skills, skills of the ancient scouts and even a survival quest where teens challenge themselves to semi-survival living for a week are available through the school. What can give greater freedom than knowing you can walk into nature and not only survive, but thrive.
Programs are offered in the northeast for weekends and week-long classes for children age 4-17 and adults.
