Join Tualatin Riverkeepers and Friends of Trees on a free half day field trip for middle school students. Hosted at Clean Water Services' Tualatin River Farm, (4490 SW Minter Bridge Rd. Hillsboro, OR, 97123) this new program focuses on storm water management, sustainable agriculture, and riparian health. The three hour adventure incorporates the dynamic and evolving habitats, projects, and communities that use the Farm into an engaging and informative educational experience. Through exploration students integrate basic concepts of site evaluation to deepen their understanding of environmental stewardship and restoration. By emphasizing the ways in which human use of the Tualatin River Farm impact watershed health, participants will gain a deeper understanding of agricultural, forest management, and restoration best practices. Program activates are designed around providing CWS with recommendations for improving the farm and working towards building a whole community. Participants will leave feeling more invested in the site and other local natural areas with a better understanding of the ways the affect their watershed.
