By playing strong in athletics and outdoor activities, girls are encouraged to achieve pride in themselves, leadership skills and more. Participation in sports results in higher self esteem, acquired leadership skills, and other skills necessary to be successful later in life. Not only do sports teach goal-setting, strategic thinking, critical skills, and the pursuit of excellence, they also provide an outlet for fun and friendship for young girl. Because of this, the Park District offers several free Girls Play Strong events. We encourage your daughter to come out and play strong! To Register for these free events you must complete registration at the West Ridge Center or reserve your spot by emailing Athletic Supervisor, Julie Mitchell at email@example.com. Come cheer on the HPHS Girls Varsity Basketball team. Be sure to wear your jersey. There will be a meet and greet with the players following the game.
