What's Included

Underwater Robotics Team Join the Underwater Robotics Team as they explore the technological feats of air and space with NASA. NASA’s work and impact is not limited to aerospace and has been adapted for uses in our daily lives. This year teams will assemble a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) test it and then participate in missions for NASA and Oceaneering Space Systems (OSS). NASA has issued a request for a dual purpose and single launch remotely operated vehicle that can operate in the harsh environments of both the deep ocean and outer space. No Experience Necessary! Teams will deploy their ROV on mini missions as they explore underwater robotics and space. Teams will compete at the Regional Tournament on May 7th. The teams will meet twice a week beginning February 26 at Jamestown Middle School. The season will end with the MATE Carolina’s State Tournament. The cost to participate in the program is $200.00. This includes a minimum of 18 team meetings, the MATE Carolina’s State Tournament on May 7, a team t-shirt, and any supplies and costs needed for the team's participation. We do our best to place everyone who is interested on a team. If we have more team members than team spaces, all spaces will be filled using a lottery system.
