Level 1 - (Approx. 4-8 years)
Beginner instruction starting with learning to fall and get back up. Balance, being comfortable on the ice, and self-confidence are stressed.
Level 2 - (Approx. 6-14 years)
Does your child want to learn how to ice skate? Has your child mastered the skills taught in Level 1? Level 2 focuses on teching forward and backward skating skills as well as different stopping techniques.
Level 3 - (Approx. 6-14 years)
Has your child mastered the skills taught in Level 2? If so, this is the skating class for them. This class builds on skills learned in Level 2. This class will introduce skills such as edge-work and skating on one foot.
The following is recommeded for all skating lessons:
Attire: All children should wear hats or helmets that cover their head and ears, mittens, warm sweaters, warm pants, and jackets. Children 7 years of under, who have never skated before, are highly encouraged to wear a helmet. Bike helmets are acceptable.
Skates - Figure skates are recommened. However, a good pair of hockey skates are acceptable if they have good support. No double runners are allowed. Rental skates are available at no additional charge, although personal skates are recommended. Rental skates may be used during skate lesson programs only.
