What's Included

LUNCH INCLUDED Sustainable Agriculture- Students will learn how cheese is made, hear from a beekeeper and see the hives and do some gardening in the NWTC organic gardens. Students will also feed and tend to chickens! Landscape- Students will explorer the gardens the Green Bay Botanical Gardens! Get ready to get dirty as you will be designing and planting your own landscape project. Students will also take home their own plants to care for. Environmental Engineering- Watch how dirty water is transformed into clean water through a water treatment process. Students will take water samples from the storm water retention pond and take a look at what can be seen under a microscope. Learn how environmental engineers work to make our world a cleaner place. Students will also tour NEW Water, Green Bay’s own water treatment plant. Their mission is to promote public health and welfare through the collection, treatment, and reclamation of waste-water.

Founded in 1912, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is a nationally-ranked, two-year public  college where students prepare for high-tech careers and begin their bachelor’s degrees. NWTC is one of 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System. The College has three campuses in Green Bay, Marinette, and Sturgeon Bay; five regional learning centers in Crivitz, Luxemburg, Niagara, Oconto Falls, and Shawano; and several additional sites.
