About This Activity

History
The Tour of the Moon was made famous in the 1980 s as a premier stage of the Coors Classic and later in the cycling movie American Flyers. It continues to be considered one of the premier recreational road rides in the western United States. The breath taking, high desert scenery and beautiful roads make this an epic day of cycling.

Registration Fee Includes
In addition to the great experience cycling this incredible Lunar Scape course, each participant will receive:
> A specially designed commemorative event jersey
> A ticket to the "Harvest Moon Celebration" post-ride lunch
> Energy replacing refreshments at all three aid stations
> Road support throughout the course
> A chance to win dozens of prizes

The Course
Cyclists can choose from the classic Tour of the Moon 41-mile course or the extended Tour of the Moon and Fruita 62-mile metric century course. Both courses will start and finish at Two Rivers Convention Center in downtown Grand Junction, Colorado.

The 2012 ride will be limited to the first 2,000 registered participants. The Icon LASIK TOUR of the MOON charity partners are the Colorado River Front Commission and Bicycle Colorado.

All participants will start by entering the Colorado National Monument through east entrance and exiting through the west entrance. A minimum of three amply stocked aid/rest stations will be positioned throughout the courses. Upon returning from their ride, participants will be greeted by the Harvest Moon Celebration with music, an delicious lunch, prize drawings and cycling expo.
