About the MMRF and Multiple Myeloma
The mission of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is to relentlessly pursue innovative means that accelerate the development of next-generation multiple myeloma treatments to extend the lives of patients and lead to a cure. The MMRF is the world's largest private funder of myeloma research. An outstanding 90% of all funds raised is budgeted for cancer research and related programming. Multiple myeloma is an incurable blood cancer. Although progress has been made in treating multiple myeloma, the five-year survival rate remains one of the lowest of all cancers.
Why Run for our Team?
Our teams raise money and awareness for cancer research. Many members of our teams have a direct connection to multiple myeloma. Others join us to support a great organization that is transforming the way that medical research and drug development are being conducted. All team members are proud to support an organization that is using their money responsibly and is one of the nations' highest rated charities by 'watch dogs' like Charity Navigator, which rates the MMRF in the top 1% of all charities it monitors.
