The foundation of the ARC Level 4 Learn to Swim program class is to develop participants' confidence in the strokes learned in Level 3 and to improve other aquatic skills. This class will focus on headfirst entries from the side in compact and stride positions, swimming under water, feetfirst surface dives, survival swimming, front crawl and backstroke open turns, treading water using two different kicks, front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly, flutter and dolphin kicks on back, learning to look carefully before entering the water, learning to perform simple nonswimming assists, and learning about recreational water illnesses and how to avoid them.
