Georgetown Parks and Recreation offers a variety of Youth Athletic Leagues each year: Co-Rec Youth Soccer in spring and fall and Co-Rec Basketball and Girls' Volleyball in the winter. All Coaches and Assistant Coaches are volunteers - typically parents of the participants, though we will accept others. All volunteers have background checks performed by the City of Georgetown each season. GPARD Youth Athletic Leagues are designed to be an educational, fun, healthy and non-competitive experience for boys and girls in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade (age limits vary depending on the sport). Each League meets for 10 weeks on Saturdays in the gymnasiums of the Georgetown Recreation Center (basketball and volleyball) or on the soccer fields adjacent to the GRC in San Gabriel Park. In all Leagues, the first two Saturdays are practices and the last eight Saturdays are games. Youth Volleyball League for girls in Fourth and Fifth Grades. Participants may register for an older league if parents feel they will fit in better because of size or skill level, but they CANNOT join a younger league for any reason. LATE REGISTRATION BEGINS JANUARY 7, 2012. Fees will increase $5.
