The Mountain Hardwear Women's Synchro Ski Pant is a minimalist ski pant, styled for feminine curves that offers superior weather resistance in a sleek technical package. Its Conduit Soft Shell fabric holds wind and water on the outside and warmth on the inside. The true test of any product is once it is out in the field, and the Women's Synchro Pant certainly commands an A+. Just read what ski mountaineer Andrew McLean had to say: "In the three years it has taken me to wear out a pair of Synchro pants, I've gone through four pairs of skis, three pairs of poles, two pairs of ski boots and countless smashed sunglasses. Synchros are built to last and are the one piece of clothing I wear virtually every time I go out backcountry skiing. Between skiing, rock climbing, travel and casual wear, I've put over 400 days on a single pair of Synchros and they are still going strong."

As good as I hoped....
had seen these pants in a retail store, couldn't find them in my size, and found them on Altrec with a little help from a great Customer Service agent. they didn't fail to disappoint ! great lightweight wear, with good pocket placement and sealed zippers. fit is reasonably true to size (a small feels like a small), although the top of the waist might be a bit baggy for some. haven't worn them in a blinding storm yet but so far, the fabric holds up well in the storm-proof department. the rise might be a little short, but again, since i haven't worn them in a huge storm, can't tell if this is going to be a problem for ultimate performance. so far, they are worth all the effort to find them !

Not what I expected
I bought these pants as a gift for my girlfriend. Based on the measurements she gave me and on other clothes she currently wears, she fell into the medium size range on the sizing chart for these pants. Or so I thought. Upon trying on the pants it turned out that the medium was a bit too large, in length, hips, and waist. So the take away being that the sizing chart seems to be a bit off. The small size should be a better fit. Overall the pants seemed well constructed using quality materials. I'm a huge fan of the Mountain Hardware brand, I myself owning several articles of outdoor clothing in their line. One of them being a pair of softshell pants, which are by far the best pair of winter hiking pants I've ever owned. They're durable, warm, extremely breathable yet water resistant, and very wind resistant. Though, they're several years old and I'm not certain Mountain Hardware still sells the same style of pants. One thing that the pants didn't have that I expected they would, was a thin layer of insulation, like a fleece lining or something. These pants would be better described almost as softshell shell, which sounds silly I know. But I've come across many softshell pants that at least have some thin layer of insulation laminated to the inside of the softshell material, or the softshell layer is thick enough to provide some insulation. These pants seemed thin, likely needing to be worn with a thin under-layer. To be clear, though they seemed thin, they still appeared to be very durable and wear resistant.
