Warm without being bulky
I got these pants for a cross-country ski trip - I wanted a softshell pant that is warm but also breathes well during aerobic activity. These are form-fitting pants, not baggy at all, with just a tiny flare at the bottom that allows them to fit over boots. They have a very soft, warm fleecy lining inside and a rugged, yet not stiff, softshell fabric outside. They are very flexible, so I feel like I will be able to move and bend easily in them. They come up high on the waist - they hit right at my navel and have an adjustable attached belt. The only problem with them is that I guessed incorrectly on my sizing. I am about 5'8", size 8-10 in pants, athletic build with stocky lower body, and I ordered a medium. They do fit snugly, but not uncomfortably, without anything else under them, but I need to be able to comfortably wear my midweight Smartwool for cold temps, and they are a little tight across the hips for that. Hoping the large isn't TOO big becuase they seem to be great pants.
