Similar to our Backyard Burn races, these courses are fun and challenging and include a mixture of winding single-track hiking trails, stream crossings, grassy fields, and minimal pavement.
Seneca Creek Course
Seneca Creek State Park in Montgomery County, MD offers a wonderful natural getaway that is just a stones throw from Washington D.C. Lake views, scenic streams, and miles of single-track hiking trails greet each visitor. This beautiful 10K racecourse strings together some of the best trails in the park offering the Blue Crab Bolt competitor a fun and challenging run in the woods.
Schaeffer Farms Course
The trails at Schaeffer Farms offer a VERY fun and wonderfully maintained trail system which includes twisty single-track, open field running, stream crossings, and several steep hills. Mostly known as a mountain biking destination, Schaeffer Farms has tons of semi-technical terrain that trail runners are going to love.
Little Bennett Course
Little Bennett Regional Park is a 3600 acre wooded playground filled with over 20 miles of trails, picturesque streams, and plenty of camping. Bring the family and camp or make the easy trek on race day to this convenient park, located off Interstate 270 only 30 miles West of D.C. The vast majority of the 10k racecourse follows twisty and fun single-track hiking trails. There is also plenty of streamside running and challenging hills.
