Anamorphic art tricks the eye into seeing something as if it were something else. The magic it creates is far simpler than some might think. From Salvador Dali to sidewalk chalk artists, this new art form that combines science and mathematics with drawing is taking over the world through media. This class will teach the basics on how to achieve an anamorphic illusion. Students will build their own cylindrical mirror, grids, and the subject of their piece is entirely up to them as well as the medium. Previous drawing experience is necessary. While the instructor will provide the materials for the cylindrical mirror from the supply fee, students will provide their own basic supplies depending on their medium of choice. $10 supply fee to be paid directly to the instructor. Supply list: $10 supply fee to be paid directly to the instructor. • Students will supply their own basic supplies depending on their medium of choice.
