Hot Shot Competition

About This Activity

The Maine Recreation & Park Association Hotshot Competition is a basketball skills event for youth ages 9 -18. It involves shooting from 5 "hot spots" on the court. This competition tests each contestant's speed, shooting, dribbling, and rebounding ability. Each participant begins by competing in a local Hotshot event. All category winners of local events advance to the regional host site competitions. After the completion of the regional events, the winners and runners up of each category then advance to the M.R.P.A. State Hotshot Competition at the Portland Expo, home of the Maine Red Claws.
