Start your season with a bike ride in support of the Old Meeting House of Francestown, a National Register Historic Property, and its capital fund drive. A fun, non-competitive bike ride with three routes of varying lengths, starting with a Tour de Francestown “feed bag”, and all returning to Francestown for lunch and tours of the Old Meeting House, to the top of its steeple, its clock and its bell.
The Rides Assemble at 8:30 AM, Leave at 9:00 AM Half Century Ride (53.8 miles) to Mont Vernon, down the hill to Milford, up the back hills with their majestic views to Lyndeborough Center and continuing on rolling countryside through Greenfield, Peterborough, Hancock and Bennington, and back to Francestown. Assemble at 9:30 AM, Leave at 10:00 AM Quarter Century Ride (25.9 miles) on rolling countryside through Greenfield, Peterborough, Hancock and Bennington, and then back to Francestown. Assemble at 10:00 AM, Leave at 10:30 AM Warm-Up Ride (15.2 miles) on rolling countryside to New Boston and back. 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM Have lunch and socialize with your friends, tour the Old Meeting House to see the work to be done, then see the bird’s-eye view through the clock’s face, or time it right for the clock’s striking while you’re in the tower.
