Brief Description:Experience the beauty of Chicago at the Dow Live Earth Run for Water 6K Run and Walk. The 6K will start at Montrose Harbor — just steps away from Chicago’s Lake Michigan waterfront taking athletes along the lakefront paths.
Upon finishing, athletes will celebrate their achievements at the Water Village and Post Race Party with a live performance by Collective Soul with special guest Sam Moore!

Packet Pick-Up:T-shirts, bibs, and timing chips (your race packet) can be picked up on RACE DAY MORNING at the 'Pre-Registration/Packet Pick-Up' tent (south end of the field/event site)
Parking:There is plentiful parking at Montrose Harbor (directly accross the street from the event site). Meters charge $1 per hour.
6K Course:The course will start & finish at Montrose Harbor and will travel north along the lakefront paths to W Hollywood Ave, then turn south back to the event site. Clocks will be at each mile marker and a water station will be located at Foster Ave serving participants heading north and south.
Why a 6K (and not a 5K or 10K)? One of the effects of the global water crisis is that many people in third world countries have to walk 6km everyday to and from their source for clean drinking water.

Chip Timing!:Chrontrack Disposable Chips! Results will be collected using computerized chips, which brings a technologically advanced timing system - one that will ensure accurate results and faster reporting of those results. Chips will be adhered to your runner bib. You will then detach the chip on race day and attach it to your shoelaces.
