Brief Description:The 2.4 mile swim takes place in the Ohio River. The bike course incorporates the City of LaGrange and Oldham County while the run course takes athletes past many of Louisville's signature sites, including its waterfront, University of Louisville campus, Churchill Downs and historic neighborhoods. The race finishes at Fourth Street Live in downtown Louisville.

IMPORTANT SWIM CUT-OFF TIME:SWIM: The swim course will close 2 hours, 20 minutes after the final athlete enters the water. Utilizing a unique time-trial start, the final athlete is projected to enter the water by 7:45 a.m.

BIKE CUT-OFF:BIKE: Athletes will be required to reach the 61-mile mark on the bike course (located at the intersection of State Road 42 and KY-393) and start the second loop by 2:15 p.m. Athletes have until 6 p.m. to reach the transition area at the completion of the 112-mile course.

RUN CUT-OFF:RUN: Athletes will be required to reach mile 14 on the run course (located on Muhammad Ali Drive just prior to the second loop) by 9:15 p.m. and complete the marathon course by midnight.

Refund/Withdrawal Policy:Withdrawal requests must be received in writing via E-mail to Louisville@ironman.com. Without exception, all requests must be received on or before July 21, 2010 to be eligible for a partial refund of $150.00 (USD). Transfers or deferrals are NOT permitted. *Withdrawal policy also applies to the Ironman Community Foundation Slots*

Ironman Foundation Slots:Slots will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will each cost $1,100.00 USD, which includes athlete registration and a $550.00 tax-deductible donation to The Ironman Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization. One hundred percent of all donations made to The Ironman Foundation, Inc. will be distributed to various local organizations and charities based in Louisville. Deferments or transfers are NOT permitted.

USAT:USA Triathlon will sanction Ford Ironman Louisville. To complete the registration process, athletes will need photo identification and must show proof of current USAT membership or purchase a one-day license ($10.00 USD) during online registration. Event Description:
Ford Ironman Louisville will serve as one of the worldwide qualifying events for the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI.
