Join the MMRF PowerTeam at the 2013 New York City Half-Marathon. The New York City Half-Marathon has become an instant "must do" event for runners. An unusual course for NYC, this half marathon starts with a loop of Central Park, then leaves via Columbus Circle for a romp through Times Square, making a left to run the final, flat miles along the West Side Highway and head for the finish line at the marina that flanks Battery Park where a post race celebration awaits you.
The MMRF will be with you every step of the way, from the moment you sign up to the incredible moment you cross the finish line. Running on our team promises to be one of the most empowering and inspiring experiences of your life. MMRF NYC Teams: Two levels of participation: All Star Team:

In order to ensure that 90% of all funds raised go back to fund myeloma research, each MMRF athlete will be responsible for costs such as marathon registration, transportation and hotel accommodations. About the MMRF and Multiple Myeloma
The mission of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is to relentlessly pursue innovative means that accelerate the development of next-generation multiple myeloma treatments to extend the lives of patients and lead to a cure. The MMRF is the world's largest private funder of myeloma research. An outstanding 90% of all funds raised go toward research and related programming. Multiple myeloma is an incurable blood cancer. Although progress has been made in treating multiple myeloma, the five-year survival rate remains one of the lowest of all cancers. Why Run for our Team?
Our teams raise money and awareness for cancer research. Many members of our teams have a direct connection to multiple myeloma. Others join us to support a great organization that is transforming the way that medical research and drug development are being conducted. All team members are proud to support an organization that is using their money responsibly and is one of the nations' highest rated charities by 'watch dogs' like Charity Navigator, which rates the MMRF in the top 1% of all charities it monitors.
