2012 Julie Rousseau's Malibu Hoop Camp

Individual Camp: June 18-20, 2012
Girls Ages 5 to 18
$325 Resident | $250 Commuter

Individual camp allows players to bring their game to the next level. It will provide fundamental instruction, through skill circuits, games and daily competitions. This camp will improve athletes of all ability levels in a fun enviornment. Campers will work with Pepperdine Coaches and Players to improve there game. Resident campers will receive 3 meals a day while Commuter camper's receive lunch and dinner only. Camp will run from 9 AM to 7 PM daily. Camp will end the last day at 4 PM.


Elite Camp: June 23-24
Girls Ages 13 to 18
$150 Resident | $120 Commuter

Elite camp offers highly competitive and expereinced players an opportunity to work hard on their game. Elite campers will get individual skill work as well as position specific work through college level session that resemble Pepperdine practices. Players will work with Pepperdine Coaches and Players to improve there game. Camp will run from 12 PM to 9 PM the first day, and 9 AM to 4 PM the last day. Dinner will be provided on the first day, and breakfast and lunch will be provided on the last day.


Team Camp: June 15-17
Team Camp is being offered to Varsity, Junior Varsity, Junior High and club Teams. There will be a Varsity and JV and Junior High Divisions. In addition to games, team camp will provide opportunities for individual skill work, time and score situations, coaches chalk talks, and practice time.

Overnight accommodations, which includes meals, are optional for an additional $160 a person (must include one coach/chaperone). Commuter teams have the option of eating their meals on campus, which includes lunch and dinner, for an additional $110 a person.


Cost: $500 per Team ($900 for 2 Teams ).(Maximum of 10 players per team)

Camp Director
Pepperdine Head Coach Julie Rousseau and her staff will serve as Camp Directors. Coach Rousseau has led Pepperdine to 3 post season appearances. Prior to Pepperdine, Coach Rousseau served as the Head Coach of the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks and was an Assistant Coach for Stanford, where she went to the Elite Eight and won 4 Pac-10 Titles.

Location
Camps will be at Pepperdine University in beautiful Malibu, CA. Basketball activities will be in Pepperdine's Firestone Fieldhouse.

Meals and Housing
Resident campers will stay in modern Pepperdine Dormitories overlooking the ocean and will have a wide variety of food choices in the buffet style cafeteria. Resident campers will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner. Commuter campers will be provided lunch and dinner.

Athletic Trainer
A certified Athletic Trainer will be on staff to treat athletic injuries.


Resident campers
Campers who will be staying overnight in the dorms will need to bring:

  • Bedding (i.e. sleeping bag), a pillow, towels, toiletries, flip flops, etc.
  • In addition, campers should pack several t-shirts, shorts, socks, a pair of court shoes (preferably not brand new), a sweatshirt, and pajamas.
  • Please DO NOT BRING VALUABLE ITEMS.


Damages
Camper rooms will be inspected before check-out: damages must be paid for before departing camp.

Housing
All attempts will be made to meet roommate requests that were provided on the registration form. Campers who did not request a roommate will be roomed with another camper of the same age.

Key Loss
Campers who lose their dorm keys will be charged $75 at checkout.

Parking
Pepperdine University does not require parking permits during the summer sport camps.

Camp T-Shirt
Campers will pick up their camp t-shirt at registration.

Camp Store
There will be a camp store that will sell Pepperdine Basketball gear. The camp store will be open at registration and at the end of camp.

Refund Policy
Refunds will not be given.
*Campers who depart camp after registration for any reason will not receive a refund.*

Camper Deportment
Campers will be asked to follow a set of rules designated to ensure that camp is fun, safe, and provides a successful learning environment. Though we rarely have problems, campers who repeatedly fail to follow the rules will be sent home immediately.

Watching Your Camper Play:
You are welcome to attend any session of camp. We ask that parents and observers stay off the playing court and sit in the stands.

Injuries
If your daughter is injured and needs to be taken to emergency services, we will attempt to contact the parents first. If unable to contact the parents immediately, the camper's safety is our first concern, and she will be taken for treatment to the proper medical facility. Every attempt will be made to contact the parents subsequently. Parents will be asked to pick up their daughters who cannot participate in camp activities due to injury, illness, or homesickness.

From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Distance: 25 miles. Time: 45 min to an hour. Directions: From the airport, proceed to I-405, the San Diego Freeway. Head north on I-405 to Interstate 10, the Santa Monica Freeway. Head west on I-10 toward Santa Monica and the ocean. Follow I-10 until it merges with Pacific Coast Hwy (California Highway 1). Go north on Highway 1 for approximately 14 miles into Malibu. Turn right on Malibu Canyon Road (traffic signal). Turn left at the next traffic signal, which is Seaver Drive. Stop at the information booth for a visitor pass and parking instructions.

From Orange County, San Diego and points south of Los Angeles
Head north on the I-405, the San Diego Freeway to I-10, the Santa Monica Freeway. Head west on the I-10 toward Santa Monica and the ocean. Follow I-10 until it merges with Pacific Coast Hwy (California Highway 1). Go north on Highway 1 for approximately 14 miles into Malibu. Turn right on Malibu Canyon Road (traffic signal). Turn left at the next traffic signal, which is Seaver Drive. Stop at the information booth for a visitor pass and parking instructions.

From points east of Los Angeles
Head west on Interstate 10 (I-10 is called the San Bernardino Freeway east of Downtown Los Angeles and the Santa Monica Freeway west of downtown). Follow I-10 until it merges with Pacific Coast Hwy (California Highway 1). Go north on Highway 1 for approximately 14 miles into Malibu. Turn right on Malibu Canyon Road (traffic signal). Turn left at the next traffic signal, which is Seaver Drive. Stop at the information booth for a visitor pass and parking instructions.

From the north on Interstate 5
Head south on Interstate 5 and continue south on Interstate 405 into the San Fernando Valley. At the Ventura Freeway (U.S. Highway 101) head north toward Ventura. Exit at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road. At the end of the ramp turn left and proceed for 9 miles through Malibu Canyon. Turn right at Seaver Drive (traffic signal) and get a visitor's pass and parking instructions from the information booth.

From Pasadena/ San Gabriel Valley
Go west on the Foothill Freeway (I-210) to Pasadena. At the Highway 134 go west to Glendale and Burbank. At the 101 Freeway go west toward Ventura. Proceed on the 101 Freeway for several miles. Exit at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road. At the end of the ramp turn left and proceed for 9 miles through Malibu Canyon. Turn right at Seaver Drive (traffic signal) and get a visitor's pass and parking instructions from the information booth.

From the north on Hwy 101/Santa Barbara and Thousand Oaks
Exit at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road. At the end of the ramp turn right and proceed for 9 miles through Malibu Canyon. Turn right at Seaver Drive (traffic signal) and get a visitor's pass and parking instructions from the information booth.
