Brief Description:

Girls on the Run inspires girls in grades 3-8 to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Using a 24 lesson curriculum, the lessons use warm ups and work outs that encourage emotional, mental, social, and physical well being. The 12-week spring session culminates with the Girls on the Run 5k event.

Event Description:

Girls on the Run is a non-profit prevention program and Girls on the Run at Magee-Womens Hospital is a chapter of the International organization. All participants will wear bib #1 and there is no official scoring or timing but there will be a finish line clock.

PACKET PICK UP: -May 9th at Whole Foods in Wexford on Rt. 19 -May 15-18th from 8:30-5:30 at GOTR Office in Oakland -3380 Blvd. of the Allies, Suite 321 Pgh 15213. *GOTR Coaches will pick up their teams' packets.* -May 19th from 12-3pm at Hartwood Acres. -May 20th from 7am-8:30am at Hartwood Acres. **Current Spring 2012 GOTR program participants ARE ALREADY REGISTERED for the 5K.

Race is open to the public. FREE PARKING: Lawn parking on Middle Rd. entrance of Hartwood Acres. Vehicles can not exit lawn area until all participants have completed the course (around 10:30am). Please arrive by 8:00am. Smaller paved lot is RESERVED for buses and handicap accessible parking. Race course is very scenic but challenging. Fun activities in concert area before and after the race.
