USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races. Brief Description:

Competitors at Ironman Wisconsin begin their day with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Monona, followed by a 112-mile bike ride throughout Dane County and then a complete marathon (26.2 miles) in and around downtown Madison. Ford Ironman Wisconsin also provides the unique backdrop of downtown Madison, as athletes will finish their day directly in front of the Wisconsin State Capitol building.

Ironman Foundation Slots

Ironman Foundation Slots:

Slots will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will each cost $1,250.00 USD, which includes athlete registration and a $625.00 tax-deductible donation to The Ironman Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization. One hundred percent of all donations made to The Ironman Foundation, Inc. will be distributed to various local organizations and charities based in Wisconsin. Deferments and/or transfers are NOT permitted.

Withdraw/Refund Policy:

Withdrawal requests must be received in writing via E-mail to wisconsin@ironman.com Without exception, all requests must be received on or before July 25, 2012 to be eligible for a partial refund of $150.00 (USD). Transfers or deferments are NOT permitted. *Withdraw policy also applies to Ironman Foundation Slots*

2013 Ironman World Championship:

2012 Ironman Wisconsin will serve as one of the worldwide qualifying events for the 2013 Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI.

USAT:

USA Triathlon will sanction Ironman Lake Placid. To complete the registration process, athletes will need photo identification and must show proof of current USAT membership or purchase a one-day license ($12.00 USD) during online registration. Event Description:
