USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States.
Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place,
liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.

Brief Description:Athletes will begin with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Woodlands that begins at North Shore Park and finishes at Town Green Park. Next is a 112-mile bike course that will take participants west through The Woodlands before heading north to the scenic, rolling farmland of east Texas. The day ends with a 26.2-mile run course entirely within The Woodlands that concludes with a spectacular finish on Market Street.

Withdraw/Refund Policy:Withdrawal requests must be received in writing via E-mail to Texas@ironman.com. Without exception, all requests must be received on or before April 2, 2012 to be eligible for a partial refund of $150.00 (USD). Transfers or deferments are NOT permitted. *Withdrawal policy also applies to the Ironman Foundation Slots*

Ironman Foundation Slots:Slots will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will each cost $1,250.00 USD, which includes athlete registration and a $625.00 tax-deductible donation to The Ironman Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization. One hundred percent of all donations made to The Ironman Foundation, Inc. will be distributed to various local organizations and charities based in The Woodlands. Transfers or deferments are NOT permitted.

Additional Information:Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas will serve as one of the worldwide qualifying events for the 2012 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI. *** Entrants must be at least 18 years old on race day ***

USAT:USA Triathlon will sanction Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas. To complete the registration process, athletes will need photo identification and must show proof of current USAT membership or purchase a one-day license ($12.00 USD) during online registration.
