Air Force Marathon Volunteer Registration

Brief Description:

A variety of volunteer opportunities are available supporting the Air Force Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K which are held September 17, 2011 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. The Sports and Fitness Expo volunteer opportunities are available September 14-September 16, 2011 at the Wright State University Nutter Center hosting 30,000 runners and spectators. Other volunteer opportunities include our 5K Race hosted by WSU Nutter Center on September 16, 2011.

Fees:

Not only is it FREE, all volunteers receive an official Air Force Marathon volunteer T-shirt and goodie bag!

Pre-marathon volunteer opportunities details:

Pre-marathon volunteer opportunities are located on base and require base access. Specific location details will appear on your email confirmation.

Sports and Fitness Expo volunteer details:

Our Sports and Fitness Expo opportunities are available starting Wednesday, September 14 - Friday, September 16 and are located at Wright State University Nutter Center located at 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy, Fairborn, OH 45435. Volunteer parking is free.

Pasta Dinner Volunteer Details:

Our Gourmet Pasta Dinner is held at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in the Modern Flight Hanger on Friday, September 16. Volunteers for these positions can pick their volunteer shirt and goodie bag at the museum prior to the start of your shift.

5K volunteer details:

The 5K Race hosted by Wright State University is held on September 16, 2011. The Start and Finish line are at the Wright State University Nutter Center at Setzer Pavillion. Volunteer parking is free.

Race Day volunteer location and details:

Race Day is Saturday, September 17 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force located at 1100 Spaatz Street, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433. All Race Day volunteers are required to check in at our Sports and Fitness Expo at the WSU Nutter Center to receive their parking pass, shirt and goodie bag Wednesday, September 14, Noon-5pm or Thursday, September 15, 11am-7pm.

Race Day hydration station volunteer details:

Race Day is Saturday, September 17. Each Hydration Station has a different location. Hydration Station volunteer shirts/goodie bags are distributed to station captains prior to race day and captains are responsible for distribution. No Hydration Station Volunteer shirts/goodie bags will be distributed at expo. Please check with your station captain regarding available spots for children under 16. Registration closes Aug 31-volunteers recruited after that will not receive shirts/goodie bags.

Event Description:

Volunteering for the 2011 Marathon does not qualify as Permissive TDY.
