Brief Description:

Pat’s Run, is the signature fundraising event for the Pat Tillman Foundation.

Held annually in April at Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium, the 4.2 mile run/walk attracts over 30,000 participants, volunteers and spectators from across the country. Together, they walk, run and honor Pat’s legacy while raising important funds to support the scholarship programs created to pay tribute to his commitment to service.

Online Registration:

Online registration is available through Friday, April 8, 2011. To register in person go to Packet Pick-up located at the north end of Sun Devil Stadium April 13- 15 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., extended hours of 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14. Please note: space is limited; race-day registration is NOT guaranteed to be available this year.

Event Schedule:

6:55 a.m. Wheelchair Start
7:00 a.m. 4.2 mile Race Start
9:30 a.m. Pat’s Run Kids Race - 0.42 mile race (non-competitive)

All events finish on the 42 yard line inside Sun Devil Stadium - symbolic of the #42 jersey Pat wore as a Sun Devil.

Team Tillman:

Team Tillman is a fundraising program designed for everyday athletes who identify with the values exhibited by Pat and want to help carry forward his legacy. Active Giving automatically creates a Team Tillman fundraising page for each Pat’s Run registrant. Individuals are encouraged to customize the page to begin earning exclusive Under Armour gear while raising funds to support the Tillman Military Scholarship program.

Kids Run:

A Kids' Run of 0.42 miles is available for children 12 years old and under. Please register children for this event in order to receive their souvenir Pat's Run Kids Run T-shirt. Parents may participate with their children in the Kids Run. Participants will be placed into start line corrals based on age; with 12 year olds starting first.

Packet Pick-up:

Packet pick-up will be available April 13 - 15 at the north end of Sun Devil Stadium, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday, April 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. You may have a family member or friend pick up your packet. We encourage you to pick up your packet prior to race morning; however, packets are available on race morning from 5:00 am to 6:30 am.

Teams consisting of a minimum of 10 members may sign up online in one of several divisions: Small Corporation up to 250 employees; Large Corporation over 250 employees; College; School(K-12); Family; Military (active or retired) or Open (does not fit any other category). Team members may register online or by application form (but not both) and registration forms must be submitted no later than March 31.

How to Create a Team:

Select LOGIN after “Already have an Active Advantage Membership?” and follow the prompts to create a User Account (this will allow Team Captains to manage their teams, if you login as a guest, it prohibits that function)
Select "Register Now," then Race Registration, and: Creating a Team Register Here! (Team Captains Only), follow prompts to create your team name and password, register for the run and invite others to join.

How to Join a Team:

Click on Register Now, Race Registration and choose Joining a Team. Select your team name from the drop down list, enter the team password and proceed with Registration. Contact your team captain for the team password.

Team Packet Pick-up:

Team captains will have the opportunity to request an early team packet pick-up on Thursday, April 7. Team captains will receive an email inviting them to select or decline an early team packet pick-up by one team member. This will enable an entire team to receive race T-shirts and goodie bags prior to race week. We encourage large teams to pick up early for your entire team to avoid waiting times during race week.

Timing Results:

RacePlace Events is the official timing company of Pat's Run. Results will be posted at www.patsrun.com on race day.

Shadow Runners:

Shadow Runs will be hosted by ASU Alumni chapters in over a dozen cities throughout the U.S. on the same day or near Pat's Run in Tempe. Click here for a full list of participating Shadow Run cities. Shadow Run registrants will receive their race T-shirts prior to April 16, 2011.

Event T-Shirt Only Registration:

Can't be there on Race Day? Run, Walk and Honor wherever you are. Race T-shirts can ONLY be mailed to people who are NOT participating in the race but would like to receive the official race T-shirt. You MUST choose the registration option for 'Event T-Shirt Only - not participating' (registration includes a $5 shipping fee). Please note, T-shirts will be mailed the week following Pat's Run.


Limited free parking is available in Parking Garage 7 (east of Sun Devil Stadium); on Lot 59 (north of the stadium); and on the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Rio Salado Parkway. Due to race day congestion it is strongly recommended that participants carpool, walk, bike or use Light Rail to get to the start area. Please visit http://www.patsrun.com for more details.

Volunteers are needed the week before the race and on race day. Activities include assembling registration packets, registering participants, handing out water to runners, directing runners along the course, working in the kids area, set up and clean up of the event:
