Brief Description:Circling the globe in 24 hours, the Dow Live Earth Run for Water will inspire the world’s citizens to come together. Running or walking 6km makes the realities of water scarcity real to participants in the developed world.

RACE REGISTRATION:Help Washington, DC be the largest Run for Water event in the United States! As of April 10, the DC event was in the lead. Help us earn this title by encouraging your friends & family to join you on race day.
•On-line registration closes on Tuesday, April 13 at 10am EST.
•You may also at the Packet Pick Up locations listed below.
•Race day registration will also be available from 6:30am to 8am.

THE AMENITIES:The Entry Fee will provide each runner with access to the following:
•On the course, runners will be serviced by one fluid stop complete with Gatorade sports drink and water.
•Following the race, runners will have access to post race snacks, bottled water & fruit
•Each finisher will receive complementary beer
•Free access to the Water Village with interactive and educational activities
•The post race party will include live music by local bands.

TIMING:The event will be chip timed and run on point to point course. (Note: the start and finish lines are close enough to walk to and from each other.) The event will use the disposable ChronoTrack D-TAG timing system that comes attached to your bib.

THE COURSE:The 6K course distance was selected to mimic the average distance women and children of many nations must travel to gain access to potable water. Unlike these third world water treks, the Run for Water DC course will be run entirely on paved roads and paths within the National Harbor property. Due to some narrow locations on the race route, we may utilize a waive start allowing participants to be on course with runner’s of similar ability.

RACE DAY PACKET PICK UP:In addition we will have packet pick up on race day from 6:30am to 8am. DO NOT BE LATE as we will not be able to extend this timeline.

RUNNER PREMIUM:Each registered runner will receive an official Live Earth logoed T-Shirt, the same shirt that every registered runner in the world will receive for joining the event. The premium will be distributed after finishing the race only. This policy will allow us to speed the distribution process and conduct race day packet pick up.

AWARDS:The event will offer overall and age group awards. The top three Male and Female overall finishers as well as the top Male and Female finisher in each of the following age group will receive an award: 14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+
|

TRAVEL:There are also Water Taxi services from both Alexandria and DC that will be
available to and from National Harbor. Water taxi fare is not included in
registration.
