ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
TECHNIQUE CAMP
1. Wrestler Taught How To Drill: One of the key components to collegiate and international success is the ability to drill intensely, accurately and efficiently. Campers at Oklahoma Gold watch college wrestler's drill then are taught the principles they employ and are constantly evaluated through camp. Learning to drill like NCAA Champions and Olympians will increase the quality and quantity of work in the same amount of time along with increasing expertise in many more situations. The bottom line- a better more successful wrestler. At most wrestling camps instructors from all over come to teach individual, unrelated holds.
2. Optional Majors: All technique sessions after the initial session consists of optional majors where wrestlers choose the area they want to perfect. For example, if you have good leg attacks you might choose a session on advanced set-ups or finishes. If your good on bottom but cant get out of legs you could choose "beating legs." Beginning wrestlers can choose basic fundamental sessions. Wrestlers choose two areas each session and wrestlers and coaches can suggest areas to meet their needs.
3. Technique Mats and Challenge Mats: While competition sessions are taking place, a technique mat is available to seek specific instruction. A challenge mat is also available for wrestlers desiring extra competition. Wrestlers have left Oklahoma Gold having wrestled as many as thirty matches.
4. Extra Help: College wrestlers and instructors are available after every session for wrestlers who want to do more and be more.
INTENSIVE CAMP
For wrestlers desiring to expand the limits of their mental, physical and emotional strength, we offer the Oklahoma Gold intensive experience. In addition to the progressive, high percentage techniques given to all campers, intensive campers will run/bike, drill, weight train, wrestle competitively and have fun. They will be formed into teams and train alongside successful Oklahoma wrestlers. Participants will learn to work hard and smart to become champions.
TEAM CAMP
The concept of training together as a team in a competitive environment has helped many teams and individuals turn the corner to success.Team camp is a unique opportunity to bond your team together while benefiting from expert instruction and great competition. Last year teams from over ten states attended. Join them to work together for the Gold. Team camp is offered for teams of 10 or more wrestlers, though teams may be combined if needed.
KIDS CAMP
The best instruction is that which is tailored to the age and ability of the wrestler. Kids Camp guarantees this instruction along with providing the necessary workout partners to maximize learning. Wrestlers age 6-12 will receive separate and special instruction along with careful camp supervision. This camp will lay the essential groundwork for championship high school and collegiate careers. Last year’s kids camp had wrestlers from seven different states!
