Event Description:

Session 1: Pitchers and Catchers Camp
Ages: 12-18
Date: December 2-3, 2006
Time: 10am-1pm
Cost: $200

Camp Description:
Held at Stephen School Stadium, this camp will be run by Recruiting Coordinator and Bronco Pitching Coach Mike Zirelli and Bronco Catching/Hitting Coach Chad Baum. This camp is an advanced pitching and catching camp for those looking to advance their skills to the next level. Pitchers will work with Coach Zirelli on mechanics, arm strengthening routines, dry-drills, picks, fielding your position, and the mental game of pitching. Catchers will be working with coach Chad Baum on the mechanics of catching which include throwing, blocking, receiving, tag plays, and pop-ups. The catchers will also be working on the mental game and the development of calling and managing a game. Other coaches will include former and current players of Santa Clara Baseball. This camp will be limited to only 20 pitchers and 20 catchers to insure a better coaching environment.


Session 2: Holiday Hitting Camp
Ages 12-18
Date: December 2-3, 2006 Time: 1:30pm-4:30pm

Camp Description:
Coordinated by current Santa Clara Hitting Instructor Chad Baum, this camp is for serious baseball players looking to continue to improve their hitting techniques. Drawing upon his experiences as a three time coach in the College World Series (Cal-State Fullerton 2001, 03, 04) Coach Baum's offensive approach will enhance each player's offensive tools. Participants will be instructed on the proper swing mechanics, phases of the swing, visualization techniques, routines, and a variety of drill specific exercises will be used to develop a complete offensive aproach. Current Santa Clara Baseball hitting philosophies will be discussed and practiced.


Session 3: Kids Holiday Instructional Games
Camp
Ages 6-12
December 18-22, 2006
Time: 9am-3pm
Cost: $200 (note: lunch provided at cost of $25 for week - prepaid at time of registration).

Santa Clara Baseball is excited to offer its most popular camp during the Holiday Season! Similar in format to its kids summer camp, participants will be grouped by age, ability and prior experience. Instruction emphasis will include individual skill development, fundamentals and team execution. Teaching areas will include topics such as outfield play, infield play, pitching, rundowns, baserunning, and double plays. In addition, each player will hit in School Stadium's year old batting facility. Coach to camper ratio is 1 coach for every 10 players. In the afternoon, games will be played to reinforce skills learned in the morning session. Each team will play together and be coached by the same coach for the duration of the week. When not playing games, participants will split time between the hitting facility and watching baseball videos. Each participant should bring cleats, baseball pants, glove, hat, bat. All instruction will be held at Stephen School Stadium, Santa Clara Baseball's State of the Art baseball facility. Lunch provided at additional cost.


Session 4: Winter Hitting Camp

Date: January 20-21, 2007
Time: 1:30pm-4:30pm Cost: $200
