The Hiking Series presented by the Town of Fountain Hills McDowell Mountain Preservation Commission and the Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills.

Notes: This hike which starts at the new Brown's Ranch Trailhead in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve will bring you to the historic Brown's Ranch (active in late 1800's - mid 1900's) with many ranching structures sill visible. Car pool available. Meet at library at 7:30, drive to ranch with 8:30 arrival goal.


Leader: Len Marcisz will be discussing the history of the cattle ranch and the interesting people involved.
Mileage/Degree of Difficulty: 3 Miles/Easy

There is a $2 entry fee into the McDowell Mountain Regional Park and hikes beginning from Golden Eagle Trailhead require the $2 fee for the Regional Park. Hikes beginning at the end of Eagle Ridge Drive must start and finish with stewards as we cross private land. The parking lot and trailhead for entrance into McDowell Mountain Regional Park is just before the gate house at Eagles Nest. Connects to the Fountain Hills McDowell Sonoran Preserve via the Sonoran Trail. end of Eagle Ridge Drive is just beyond the Copperwynd Resort entrance.
