The Colorado Marathon is the premier running event in the state of Colorado. The marathon takes runners down the scenic Poudre River Canyon into downtown Fort Collins. It is known as one of the fastest and most scenic marathons in the country. Come run with us!
2013 will be the 12th running of the Colorado Marathon. We're always working to improve the event, but the best part - the beautiful and fast downhill course - stays the same. Don't miss this event! Register early!
Race of the Year!
Colorado Runner subscribers voted the Colorado Marathon the 2009 Race of the Year. We thank everyone for their support. Race organizers are continuously working to improve the event. We are confident you will agree that the Colorado Marathon is one of the best running experiences in the country.
Most Scenic Course in America!
The Colorado Marathon course has repeatedly been claimed to be "the most scenic course in America". The thrill of running down the Poudre River Canyon in the Colorado Rockies is an experience and a memory that will last a lifetime.
Top Boston Qualifier
The Colorado Marathon has consistently produced a high number of Boston qualifying times. The distracting beauty, gradual down hill, mild weather and slight tail wind combine for a marathon and half marathon time (and overall experience) that may be pleasantly surprising.
Value of Entry Fee
Besides the scenery and fast course, all participants receive a Brooks EZ T technical shirt (feels like cotton, functions like technical) with men's and women's sizing, Custom Finisher Print (water color painting by local artist Tom Riggs), -- Marathon, half marathon and 5k participants are provided a charter luxury bus ride to the starts (this is worth the price of admission). -- All marathon and half marathon finishers receive a custom medallion. Certified course and electronic chip timing.
Post Race Food and Fun
Post race food and a beer garden featuring Michelob Ultra and other flavors is offered to all participants until 11:30am. At noon the awards ceremony is held at Coopersmith's Poolside. Free beer and other beverages and pizza are served from 12:00pm to 2:00pm to all participants.
The Colorado Marathon events are community focused. We reserve 100 entries in the marathon and 50 entries in the half marathon for the Charity Fund. Proceeds from the charity fund entries are donated to a number of beneficiary groups. See http://thecoloradomarathon.com/givingback.html for a full listing of our beneficiaries and amounts.
