Drills designed to practice throwing the ball over the middle of the field is beneficial for both the quarterback and the wide receiver. Quarterbacks need to develop a good sense of what kind of passes to throw in high-traffic areas. Wide receivers need to work on gaining comfort in an area of the field where safeties and linebackers roam.
This drill is simple, and works on several aspects of the passing game.
