About This Activity

A celebration event ~ celebrating family, faith & friends along with a 5K run/walk and a memorial walk will mark the inaugural event of the Running for Lee Lee Memorial Scholarship fund drive. *All proceeds will go to help fund a scholarship to be awarded to a Hornbeck High School graduate pursing a degree in nursing.

The day will begin with the 5K run/walk which will be followed by a Celebration ceremony and a memorial walk. PLEASE mark your calendars and make plans to come out and be a part of this special day! We encourage you to bring your family and just see why we believe that "Even in tough times, God is still working".

Lee Lee Summerell was admitted to Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria on April 8, 2011 with what was thought to be a simple viral infection. Over the course of the next 11 days, she was under the constant care of many specialists. Even after countless medical tests and procedures, doctors were unable to determine the cause or the exact nature of Lee Lee';s illness. God called her home on April 17, 2011.

Lee Lee was born on September 11, 1979, in Natchez, MS. She was a 1997 graduate of Hornbeck High School and a 2006 graduate of Northwestern State University with a B.S. in Nursing. She was employed by Cane River Surgery Center as a registered nurse.

Lee Lee enjoyed running, time with friends and was an avid supporter of the Natchitoches Humane Animal Shelter. She was also a member of the Service League of Natchitoches.
