Brief Description

Maine's largest running club. Founded in 1979, the Maine Track Club (MTC) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that promotes running for fun & fitness. It is Maine's largest and most active running club with over 600 members. The club organizes many road races each year and hosts membership meetings and social events.

Membership Benefits

Diverse Membership

The Maine Track Club is made up of runners, joggers, walkers, and volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life. Our common bond is the joy of movement and of being outdoors.

Road Racing

There are plenty of opportunities to participate, as both competitor and volunteer, at races that range from 5K to 50 Miles in distance. There are also non-competetive youth races and races for charitable organizations. The MTC website provides race applications, race results, and event information.

Running Options

MTC members can choose from a variety of runnng options for training and socializing including: Free coaching April through September; MTC Roasters Run, the Saturday mornign group run; Special fun runs; Youth running programs; and Various area group runs.

Social Activities

Many MTC members enjoy socializing at the membership meetings, at post-run gatherings, and on organized outings.

Volunteer Opportunities

All are heartily encouraged, but not obligated, to work at three races or other club events during the year, as we are an all-volunteer club. Members are expected to practice good sportsmanship and exhibit courtesy when running in or working at a race or other club event.

Club Affiliations

Maine Track Club is an affiliate of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and USA Track & Field (USATF). MTC members receive RRCA membership benefits & services.

Additional Information

Membership is based on the calendar year, expiring on December 31st. Dues paid between September 30th and December 31st is good through December of the following year.
