Basketball Sport Foundations-Camp (8-13 yrs)

About This Activity

This program is designed to teach and develop the fundamentals of basketball with progression to advanced skill.  We will provide kids with a fun and stimulating opportunity for physical and psychosocial development.  A portion of each day will focus on athletic movement and coordination drills.  Kids will learn how to use jump ropes and agility ladders; they will learn and practice proper jumping techniques, running form, and much more.  Each day will include sessions that focus on the foundational skills of basketball, such as ball handling, passing and catching, shooting, and defense.  For the older group there will be a developmental sequence for "basket attack", post moves and jump shooting.  There will also be drills designed to teach team concepts such as offensive motion and team defense.  Our program takes pride in "active learning", there will be very little standing around.
