Active.com Tennis Editor
Kirsten Korosec is the tennis editor for Active.com. She also enjoys creating content for Active’s endurance audience.
Kirsten loves any activity that combines adventure, the outdoors and a little competition. She grew up playing tennis in Tucson, Arizona, where her family owns and operates a tennis and fitness facility. She now regularly participates in women's adult and mixed doubles USTA leagues. Her adult team won the Southwest Sectionals Championship in August 2012 and is headed to Nationals in October.

But tennis isn't her only love. Kirsten's an avid hiker, rock climber and trail runner and when she's not working she can be found in the mountains surrounding Tucson, or further afield in Colorado, the Pacific Northwest or Europe.
Her biggest adventure was through-hiking the entire 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail, which stretches from the California-Mexico border to the Washington-Canada border. She's also completed a number of other multi-day treks in South America, climbing adventures in the Julian Alps in Slovenia and the Dolomites in Italy, and summited Mount Rainier, Mount Hood, and Mount St. Helens to name a few of her favorites.
She dipped her toe into the triathlon world in 2009 thanks to Active's My First Triathlon project, which tracked and supported rookie triathletes as they trained and competed. Wildflower was her first triathlon, and boy was it a doozie. The camping, the swim and the hills left an impression…and the following year she came back for more, joined by her husband—a fellow newly obsessed triathlete.
When Kirsten's not on the court, on the trails or climbing, she can be found aiding, cheering and occasionally pacing her husband at ultra-distance running events around the Western United States.
Aside from her adventurous spirit, Kirsten has worked as a reporter and editor with 15 years of online and print experience. She’s excited to be part of the Active team, combining her passion for sports and adventure with her editorial experience.
