About Sawyer Mobley
With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. Volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like this local boy, Sawyer Mobley.
Sawyer is a third grader at Bel Air Elementary School in Evans. He was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital in St. Louis on Aug. 28th and is presently on the active list awaiting a double lung transplant.
Sawyer is the son of Angel and Tom Mobley. Born on November 26, 2002, Sawyer was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. The doctors at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, have recommended a life-saving double lung transplant. An estimated $50,000 is being raised by volunteers working with COTA in a local campaign called “Strength for Sawyer”.
