What's Included

Come and learn about one of the oldest forms of literature–Greek Myths. These ancient stories tell of powerful gods such as Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Athena and Artemis. They describe the exciting adventures of brave heroes like Heracles (Hercules), Perseus, Jason and Odysseus. And they show us amazing creatures such as the beautiful Pegasus, the many-headed Hydra, and the ugly giant Cyclops, Polyphemus. Why do these old stories still capture our imaginations and have so many lessons to teach us today? That is one of the questions we’ll be trying to answer. Each day we will listen to different myths and talk about them in our search to understand their meanings. All of this leads to the main activity of the class–to rehearse and perform several of the myths as short plays in Greek costumes on the final day of Super Summer.
