January 8th Girls Running Strong Training Session (Finish Chelsea's Run 5k)

About This Activity

Girls Running Strong is an 8 week running/fitness program for girls ages 9-13 culminating with the completion of a 5k (3.1miles) race. Girls will learn the basics of running, how to set and achieve goals, stress management, proper nutrition, team building and leadership skills, the importance of a healthy lifestyle and positive self-body image. The program meets twice per week.

Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:45pm. We meet in the parking lot below the LR Green Elementary School lower field 3315 Las Palmas Ave. Escondido This training session includes the Finish Chelsea's Run 5k on Saturday March 2nd in Balboa Park, San Diego. This program is designed for girls with a beginning to intermediate fitness level. No experience with running is required. Girls will recieve a GRS t-shirt, cinck sak and notebook. Entrance fee into 5k is included.
