Girls on the Run of the Southern Tier 5k Celebration

About This Activity

Girls on the Run is a program dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. The girls meet twice a week for 10 weeks and learn life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Throughout the ten weeks, the girls prepare for the culminating 5k celebration. Completing a 5k gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Please join us for this non-competitive 5k to celebrate fitness, fun and most importantly to honor the hard work of our GOTR girls! The 5k is a celebration of every individual';s achievement and therefore, it will not be a timed race. Running buddies have been assigned for all the girls. Community members wishing to run will register under the Individual Age group/ open registration category.
